Document Viewer

Use document viewer to view .docx and PDF files directly in Agiloft, instead of requiring you to download the file and then open it in third-party software like Microsoft Word. It is easy to use, provides a more secure viewing experience, and includes a built-in text search. You can even print documents directly from the document viewer. Note that actually editing the text of a document still requires a full word processing tool.

Viewing Documents in Agiloft

The document viewer has different user interfaces that you can access depending on the use case you are in.

To access the CLM contract interface, you can simply open the .docx or PDF from an Attachment record. This Attachment record needs to be associated with a Contract ID. Otherwise, no right pane will be visible in the document viewer.

To view documents directly in  Agiloft:

  1. Open a record that contains an attached file, depending on your use case above.
  2. Click the file link.
  3. For editable file formats like .docx, you can choose whether to view the file or open it for editing. Click View File to see it directly in your KB.
    Option to view file
  4. The file opens for viewing directly in  Agiloft.

  5. To search the document, click the magnifying icon in the top right-hand corner and enter your search.
  6. If you have any annotations tagged in the document you're viewing, they will appear in the right pane of the document viewer. You can use Show Highlights in the three-dot menu on the top right corner to show or hide the tags.

Analyze Contracts in the Document Viewer

If you have AI enabled, you can streamline your AI Project workflows by tagging and reviewing annotations directly in the document viewer with the Analyze Contracts button. This button appears in the top right corner of the document viewer if all the following criteria are met:

  • In Setup > Integrations > Agiloft Contract Concept Mapping, the "Action Button field to use when requesting clause extraction" field points to an action button that runs the Data Analysis action used for extraction.
  • The action must be configured to have a Processing Type value of Single Document.
  • The action must be configured to not run in background mode.
  • The Attachment record must be linked to a Contract record.

When you click Analyze Contracts, the Data Analysis action annotates your document and shows all the tags in the right pane.

Testing Model Performance in the Document Viewer

If you have AI enabled, you can test the performance of the models you are working on in a given AI Label Training project by uploading a sample contract and clicking the Generate AI Suggestions button. This button appears in the top right corner of the document viewer in the AI Suggestions tab, but only appears in documents that are linked to an AI Label Training project. This button is only available when the AI Suggestions tab is empty. For more information about training models, visit AI Trainer.
