  • Comparison Against the Previous version: In an Attachment record, you can compare the last two Word versions in the Attached File field against previous attachments. This feature is extremely helpful, especially because editing is possible directly in an attachment. When a user edits a document, a new Attachment record for the edited version is created in the system by a rule. This new Attachment record contains the previous version in the Previous Attachment field and the newly edited version of the document in the Attached File field. To create a markup file comparing these two documents, simply click on the Compare Documents action button. A markup document is then attached in the Markup File field, which marks all the changes made by the user.
  • Comparison Against the Baseline: Baseline document is the original output of the print document template, which is stored and compared against for change markup. This field is auto-populated with the baseline version when an Attachment record is edited. When the user clicks the Compare to Baseline button, a marked-up document is then attached in the field called Markup Against Baseline Contract File.

Attachments can also be created from a print document template using the Create and Attach button in the Contract. They can also be created by an action that runs on files attached to inbound emails that are sent to the Contract table's inbound email address.
