End User Interface

End users may be external customers or company employees. In a typical implementation, they are users who submit records or requests but do not work on them.
The default setup covers a range of common users such as helpdesk and support applications, as well as contract and document management.
The default EUI can be completely customized, and offers a way to provide your different groups of end users with their own completely distinct interface for Agiloft. You can reconstruct the screen layouts, provide your own style of toolbar and different options on the main page, as well as your own fonts, color scheme, logo, and buttons using standard HTML and CSS. Each group can have its own interface with a different home page and navigation options. Once these interfaces have been created you simply supply each group with an URL to log into their particular interface.
New installations of the default knowledgebase include the following example of a default portal:
Members of end user groups access the system through the End User Interface. From there they can be permitted to:
- Search, view and print FAQs
- Submit new items in any table
- Edit items defined as their own in any table
- View items in any table and run and save simple and complex searches
- Edit their user profile
Depending on your user account rights or specific setup, some of these features might not be available.
The End User Interface uses a responsive design that can be viewed on mobile devices as well as desktop browsers.
Accessing the EUI
There are several ways to provide access to the EUI. For example, the standard knowledgebase list page allows you to select the interface type:
However it is most likely that end users will access the system through a web portal, or through some other indirect means such as a hotlink sent through an email. In these cases they will not need to choose the interface, and the system will automatically log them into the customized EUI interface, with a view of the tables and records based on their group profile.
For example, users in the Customer group will see links to the Support Cases they've submitted, which can be accessed from the Home tab and the drop-down View menu:
